H.O.P.E. v2 Wings of the Soul

H.O.P.E. (Healing of Pain and Enlightenment) volume two brings us to a new direction via Lorna Tolentino in ‘Wings of the Soul,’ produced by Pinky Tobiano and line produced by Star Records with the help of Philip Cu-Unjieng.

After the successful H.O.P.E. album volume one which earned a gold record award, Wings of the Soul encompasses a different set of concept: acceptance, healing, surrendering, and moving on. The new path of this CD comes in the person of Lorna Tolentino. She stands for those people who have had a loved one suffer from cancer.

Like the first volume, the album sales of the Wings of the Soul album will also go to certain beneficiaries: The Pinky cares Foundation & The Rudy Fernandez Cancer Foundation, Inc.

The artists who participated in the album are chosen for a specific reason and each song that they rendered holds a particular significance and meaning. The artists namely, Sharon Cuneta (Special Memory), Tirso Cruz III (Awit Ni Daboy), Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Bong Revilla, and Philip Salvador (Doon Lang), Christopher De Leon, Bobot Mortiz and Ricky Davao (Stand By Me featuring Bodie Cruz), Aga Muhlach (Let it Be), Gary Valenciano (Ikaw Lamang), Piolo Pascual (I’ll Be There For You/I will Be here) and Jamie Rivera (My Life Is In Your Hands), did it for the love of Lorna and Rudy Fernandez.

Aside from the songs, a narration from Lorna will be heard in the CD. Both the prologue and epilogue are written by Ms. Bibeth Orteza.

Let the power of music touch your life and be healed as you’re serenaded by the songs included in the Wings of the Soul (H.O.P.E. 2). Available in all record bars nationwide, produced by Pinky Tobiano and line produced by Star Records.

Tirso Cruz who manifested the art of his poetry and the art of is true and timeless friendship with Daboy both as songwriter and vocalist. Pip, whom I consider as being instrumental to the recording of this album has been (and still is) an eternal pillar of generosity to which we are forever grateful to have him in our lives.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada who lent his voice in the song and also lent to Rudy a lifetime of best-friendship, loyalty, and brotherhood; as well as Senator Bong revilla whose vocals reverberates his thoughtful and nurturing friendship with Rudy; and Phillip Salvador whose voice contribution resonated his deep affection for Daboy. Sepcial thanks to Tirso Cruz III who co-wrote lyrical revisions to the song and to song writer Willy Cruz whose generosity was astounding as he granted us permission to use his song and even helped in the revision of some of the lyrics to tailor the message of the song.

Stand By Me
Three close friends, who stood by Rudy as a testament to their unyielding friendship with Daboy, and thus in unison, befittingly sang the song---Christopher De leon, Bobot Mortiz, and Ricky Davao. We are also truly grateful to both Tirso Cruz III and son Bodie Cruz who respectively contributed back-up and rap vocals to the song.

Let It Be
Aga Muhlach whose cover of the Beatles hit commemorates Rudy’s favorite song. Daboy’s friendship with Aga reaches far bacj to Aga’s Bagets teenage years.

Ikaw Lamang
Gary Valenciano who is an icon of humanity and spirituality, is an honor to be a part of this album. Gary V. is an unwavering earth-angel who is a wellspring of kindness and charitable deeds---anyone even mildly acquainted with the man invariably recognize such truth.

Piolo Pascual is one of whom Rudy shared an affectionate and professional mutual affinity with--- they appreciated and respected each other’s work as talented actors.

Jamie Rivera--- a treasure of a friend I’ve had the great fortune to recently have in my life, her generosity in terms of her love, and her efforts to translate that love into action has been deeply felt and appreciated by all of us in the family. Jamie performed this song during the final moments of Rudy’s burial.

GMA Films President Annette Gozon Abrogar bares lineup of movies for 2009

Nakakuwentuhan ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang GMA Films President na si Ms. Annete Gozon-Abrogar sa Barrio Fiesta restaurant bago ang premiere night ng Sundo last Tuesday, March 17. Ang next projects ng GMA Films ang inalam namin kay Ms. Annette at game naman siyang nag-share ng mga gagawin nilang pelikula this year.

"Ang Spoiled Brat nina Ogie Alcasid at Michael V sana ang next na naka-lineup, adapted siya sa sikat na segment nila sa Bubble Gang. Co-produced ito ng APT Entertainment. Pero hindi ko pa alam kung sino ang director dahil baka gawing trilogy—may comedy, action at drama. Baka gawing one story na lang, tingnan natin," simula ni Ms. Annette.

Nabanggit din ni Ms. Annette na may plano ang GMA Films na muling gumawa ng Marian Rivera-Dingdong Dantes movie at magiging birthday presentation ng dalawa. Sa August ang playdate nito kung sakali, ang birthday month ng mga bida ng Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang.

"Romance-comedy ang naiisip namin o light romance na request ng kanilang fans. Co-produced naman ito with Regal Entertainment dahil may exclusive contract si Marian kay Mother Lily. Ang problema lang, gagawa yata si Marian ng movie with Vhong Navarro sa Regal, tingnan natin.

"May Panday rin na co-production with Imus Productions nina Bong [Revilla]. Sina Rhian Ramos at Iza Calzado ang leading ladies ni Bong, but more on Iza.

"Ang Ouija 2 rin na may October playdate. Si Topel Lee pa rin ang director at same cast; sina Judy Ann Santos, Jolina Magdangal, Rhian, at Iza. Gusto kong isama si Richard Gutierrez para magkasama na sila ni Judy Ann. Siya lang ang lalake sa cast at bale balik-horror na naman siya. Puwede rin si Dingdong para magkatrabaho uli sila ni Judy Ann."

Si Noel Ferrer ang nagbanggit na unang nagkasama sina Judy Ann at Dingdong sa I'm Sorry, My Love ng Regal at Akala Ko at Magkapatid ng Viva Films. Maganda raw kung horror movie naman ang gagawin ng dalawa.

Binanggit ng PEP kay Ms. Annette na pang-Halloween presentation din ng Regal ang Tarot na pagtatambalan nina Dennis at Marian. Tatapatan ba ng GMA Films ang Regal?

"Ay, hindi! Hindi namin tatapatan si Mother Lily. Two weeks before or two weeks after Tarot ang playdate ng Ouija, walang tapatan," paglilinaw nito.

Ang binanggit ni Ms. Annette ay mga pelikulang gagawin ng GMA Films for 2009. Napansin naming wala siyang binanggit na Andres Bonifacio, na sabi'y entry nila sa 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival at si Dennis bida. Hindi na itinanong ng PEP ang tungkol dito dahil itinanggi na nina Noel at Joey Abacan na may gagawin silang pelikula ng GMA Films pa rin.

Marso pa lang kaya puwede pang mapalitan ang mga pelikulang naka-lineup na gagawin ng GMA Films. Ang Panday at Ouija 2 pa lang daw ang sigurado.

Pero tiyak na ikatutuwa ng fans nina Ogie at Michael V kung matutuloy ang Spoiled Brat. Maliligayahan din nang husto ang followers nina Marian at Dingdong kung may pelikula ang dalawa na kanilang mapapanood sa kanilang kaarawan. Sa August 2 ang birthday ni Dingdong at sa August 12 naman ang birthday ni Marian.

Sa pagkakaalam namin ay ang Solar Sports ang may hawak ng rights sa mga laban ni Manny.
Ang Solar ang dapat mamili kung saan nila gustong ipalabas ang laban.

Nabalitaan din namin na nakikipag-bid ang ABS-CBN sa darating na laban sa Mayo.
Malaki raw ang offer kay Manny ng Kapamilya Network at pinangakuan pa yata ang Pambansang Kamao na tutulungan ito ng network sa pagkandidato nito sa eleksyon.
Matatandaan na lumayas si Manny sa AB-CBN matapos batikusin ni Korina Sanchez sa radio program nito.

Feeling ni Manny noon, naturingan siyang Kapamilya pero hindi siya prinoteksyunan ng ABS-CBN na home studio niya noon. Abangan na lang natin kung ano ang mangyayari.

Mga ABS-CBN teleserye pa rin ang pinapanood ng nakakaraming Pilipino sa buong bansa ayon sa TNS Media Research. Sa inilabas nilang national TV ratings para sa araw ng Monday, March March 9, 2009 ay pumalo sa 40% ang May Bukas Pa at I Love Betty La Fea.

May Bukas Pa (41.8%) vs. Totoy Bato (27.4%)
I Love Betty La Fea (40.1%) vs. Babaing Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang (24.8%)

Sa May Bukas Pa, patuloy na binabago ni Santino ang mga buhay ng mga taong kanyang nakikilala. Buong bayan ang nag-abang sa madramang pagbabalik ng Teleserye Queen sa primetime sa kanyang guest starring sa May Bukas Pa bilang si Julia.

Patuloy na kinikilig ang bayan sa love team nina Bea Alonzo at John Lloyd Cruz sa I Love Betty La Fea. Hindi susuko si Armando sa kanyang muling pagsuyo kay Betty. Hanggang kailan maitatanggi ni Betty na mahal pa rin niya si Armando?

Big Time Trio nangunguna!

Bukod sa pangunguna ng Prime Time Bida sa TV ratings na nilalabas ng TNS Media Research ay patuloy nangunguna ang Big Time Trio ng ABS-CBN last March 5, 2009 sa katapat nitong programa.

Capture talaga ng ABS-CBN ang viewers nito simula sa unang show ng Big Time Trio na Ruffa and Ai sa mga bigatin nilang mga guest at mga gimiks na magugustuhan talaga ng mga manonood nito. Hindi naman papatalo ang chairman ng gameshow na si Edu Manzano sa Pilipinas Game KNB. At mas mapapasarap ang tanghalian ng buong Kapamilya kapag sumalang na si Wiliie Revillame at ang mga co-host nitong sina Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Pokwang sa everyday habit ng buong bansa ang Wowowee.

Raymond Gutierrez and Carla Humphries Magkahalikan?

Isa palang kapamilya yung sinasabing kahalikan ni Raymond Gutierrez sa isang party, si Carla Humphries. Ewan ko nga ba kung what’s the big deal dito eh karaniwan namang tanawin sa atin ‘yung mga nagki-kissing scene. Hindi na tayo naiiskandalo dito.

Charice Sings First US Single ‘Fingerprint’

Pinay singing sensation Charice performed parts of “Fingerprint”, a song from her upcoming US album, at the Oscars after-party.

Charice was not able to sing the whole song because of technical problems. However, she was able to entertain the audience at the Oscars after-party through her rendition of “Listen” and “I Will Survive.”

The Oscars After-party was held at Mr Chow in Los Angeles last February 22, 2009.
