The first "Darna" series was played by Angel Locsin. When Angel left GMA and moved to ABS-CBN, it was Marian Rivera who bagged the most coveted role to date for the station. Both versions were widely accepted by the public.

This is Popoy's reply, “Marian and I are open to [the project], pero wala pa talagang napag-uusapan.” While Manay Ethel Ramos, Angel's manager, said she have yet to talk with Malou Santos of Star Cinema regarding this possibility.
